Spare Parts Puppet Theatre is excited to offer a FREE EVENT for seniors groups in the community. Join them at ‘Marionettes & Memories’ to have a cuppa, try your hand at puppeteering, engage in conversation, and share memories.
Marionettes & Memories will welcome older people into their Creative Learning Centre in Fremantle. Each participant will be invited to bring an object from home that has a special resonance or story for them. You’re also welcome to come along with a family member/carer to keep you company.
Associate Director Michael Barlow will share the captivating history of marionettes showcasing select pieces from the Spare Parts collection, before inviting you to try your hand at manipulating these exquisite puppets. Participants will then be invited to share stories relating to the object they have brought, sharing precious memories in a supportive and respectful environment.

Wednesday 31 January: 9.30am – 12pm
Thursday 1 February: 9.30am – 12pm
Friday 2 February: 9.30am – 12pm

Spare Parts Puppet Theatre, 1 Short St, Fremantle (Spare Parts is a fully accessible venue with ramp entrance and accessible toilets.)
Transport offer:
With support from Department of Communities, community groups, retirement villages and aged care facilities that have made a booking for our morning sessions can access up to $500+GST per session to subsidise the cost of transportation to attend ‘Marionettes & Memories’. Transportation is to be arranged by you, and invoices sent to Spare Parts for payment (with prior approval).

Do note spots are very limited. Session sizes are for 15 participants and bookings must be made full a full session (15 participants – carers and other non-participants not included).
