The 15th of June every year marks the United Nations internationally recognised World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

Sadly, elder abuse is estimated to affect 1 in 20 older people in Western Australia, becoming a common social issue in our community. The abuse of the elderly can take various forms, ranging from physical and sexual assault, to neglect, psychological and financial mistreatment.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day seeks to raise awareness about elder abuse.

Advocare is proud to be at the forefront of raising public awareness about this day and encourages organisations and individuals to become engaged in helping to prevent elder abuse.

To find out how you can get involved and for more information about the day, download your FREE World Elder Abuse Awareness Day information kit below.
