The Aboriginal Access Project
was formed to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI)
people in Western Australia by:
Providing information about
their rights and responsibilities to access Home and
Community Care (HACC)
Improving access to information
for HACC clients about rights and responsibilities
Promoting their rights,
entitlements and concerns in relation to HACC
Reinforcing respect for older
ATSI people.

To develop information resources
in a culturally specific manner explaining access to HACC
services
To provide information for HACC
services wishing to better service ATSI communities
To ensure that elderly
Aboriginal people in rural and remote Western Australia are
better informed about their rights and responsibilities
regarding HACC services
To ensure that HACC Clients and
service providers are better informed about the role of
Advocare in the community.

varieties are found all over our great state of Western Australia, the gum leaves and nuts represent this and importance of our natural environment to our states continued growth and development.
The hands and bodies of different colours linked together represent unity and the need for Aboriginal and non- Aboriginal people to work together towards improved community wellbeing for all.
The colours featured in the centre of the picture symbolise the diverse types of country that our state is renowned for. Ochre represents the drier, desert regions. Yellow represents the sandy plains and golden coastline, and blue represents the waterways, the ocean, rivers, lakes and swampland.
